What the event is about

The event will explore the proposed new settlement at Worcestershire Parkway and, importantly for lawyers, the practical legal, financial, planning and delivery challenges involved in making a project of this scale happen.

It brings together accountants, lawyers, surveyors and planners, making it particularly relevant to Worcestershire Law Society members who advise clients involved in:

  • Property and development
  • Planning
  • Infrastructure
  • Finance
  • Local government/public sector
  • Commercial development
  • Large-scale residential projects
  • Risk and governance

The discussion will use Worcestershire Parkway as a live case study and look at:

  • Infrastructure funding and public/private financing
  • Long-term viability and financial risk
  • Phasing of major developments
  • Governance and stewardship
  • Future public-sector liabilities
  • The legal, planning and delivery challenges of turning national New Town ambitions into something that can actually be delivered locally.
