Working for Carers - Briefing Session for Employers
Did you know one in seven employees look after someone who couldn't manage without their help? This could be because of illness, disability, mental-ill health or drug/alcohol problems.
The Working for Carers project invites you to join our free online briefing session to hear about the bespoke support we offer employers in Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland, to support and identify your employees who are carers.
Over 600 people leave work every day due to difficulties balancing their caring role and employment. Employers lose skilled and experienced employees. Employees are impacted emotionally and financially.
From the session, you can expect to hear more about the training and briefing sessions we deliver to identify carers in the workplace, the bespoke advice we offer to review and implement carer-friendly policies, how to create a carer-friendly workplace, and the support you can receive from us to recognise employer responsibilities with a key focus on the Carer’s Leave Act and Flexible Working Act.
The Working for Carers project also supports unpaid carers looking after someone in Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland, throughout their employment and educational journey. It is a partnership between Newcastle Carers, North Tyneside Carers' Centre, and Carers Northumberland. This project is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, with the North East Combined Authority as the lead authority.
