Impact Investment Academy 2024
Wed 20 Nov 2024 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM
BAFTA, 195 Piccadilly, London, W1J 9LN
Description
Hear from leaders in the sustainable investment sector to equip you with the latest thinking on solutions in this progressive market.
Our stellar international line-up of keynotes and panellists feature leading influencers driving social and environmental change in financial services, from the UK, Europe and the US.
We are privileged to announce; Dame Sara Thornton (former UK Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner) and Prof Tim Lenton (one of the world’s top climate scientists, who spoke at this year’s Glastonbury Festival) will be two of our keynotes.
Dame Sara will speak on harnessing the power of investors to end modern slavery and interview a survivor who is joining us on the day. Sara featured in a BBC 1 documentary (Slavery on the High Street) aired this month and was recently interviewed on the Today programme following a government announcement on reducing the backlog of modern slavery cases.
Prof Tim will examine positive tipping points within our social systems which could help accelerate progress towards a more sustainable future. Tim is the founding Director of the Global Systems Institute and Chair in Climate Change and Earth System Science at the University of Exeter. Recent work with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries has led to ground breaking research to provide compelling logic for net zero becoming part of fiduciary duty.
The agenda covers the most progressive topics in the sustainable finance sector (as opposed to product pitches), with an audience of fund selectors, advisers and market influencers.
The conference will wrap up with a drinks reception (at 4pm) for all attendees.
Why should you attend:
Bringing together more than 250 investment professionals including advisers, fund selectors, asset managers and market influencers, the 2024 Impact Investment Academy will help you to really understand the market at this pivotal time.
Together with our expert panel and keynote speakers, we’ll unpick the greenwashing and arm advisers with the knowledge and tools to make sure that when clients think their money is doing good, it actually is.
Why do so many delegates keep coming back:
- Inspired by the quality of content from the leaders of sustainable finance in the UK.
- Learning about the latest developments in stewardship and engagement, as well as regulation (e.g. SDR and the Anti-Greenwashing rules).
- Networking with peers, old and new contacts interested in sustainable investing.
Outcome from the day:
- Certified CPD hours
- Increased awareness of the variety of investments that generate positive impact
- Better understanding of how to discuss sustainable investments with clients.
“A very stimulating and thought provoking day. I feel empowered to have more in depth conversations with my clients about sustainable investing”
