About the Playwright:

Sheron Weston

Sheron S. Weston is an American playwright, director, producer and composer. She began writing stories, plays and songs at an early age, composing her first song at the age of three. Always blessed with the gift of storytelling, writing and composing comes naturally to Sheron. The Athens-born playwright has written dozens of songs, scripts and plays, addressing pressing social issues from a good moral prospective.

After retiring from Fulton County Government in 2007, she dreamt of the day she would bring her stories to life on live stage and film. Sheron founded WOW Onstage, SLLC production company in 2007 and has written, directed, produced and composed seven musical plays. Her first production, “Ten Virgin Five Wives, Five Foolish,” hit the stage in 2007 followed by “The Lost Son” in 2009. Her most successful play, “The Company You Keep,”, debuted to a sold-out audience. In 2013, “From the Cradle to the Cross,” which started as a community project was such a hit, she was asked to bring the theatrical musical to the 14^th Street playhouse, in Atlanta.

Sheron’s vision is to produce projects that encourage audiences to broaden their mind. She believes the fight is waged at the level of how we think and hopes her projects initiate and encourage discussions of how each of us may become a change agent.
