Thu Jan 20, 2022 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM PST

Online, Zoom

Description

Webinar with Dr. Jan Yager, bestselling international author, publisher, and author of Foreign Rights and Wrongs

Dr. Jan Yager is a foreign rights pro and author who has successfully sold foreign rights for her books and the authors of her company, Hannacroix Creek Books, Inc., and for selected client publishers, authors, and literary agents, including one or multiple sales into 34 languages.

In this webinar, you will learn 21 ways to make a foreign deal happen through real-life examples.

  • It does not matter if you are self-published, published by a small press, or by a major house. This webinar offers 21 suggestions for making a foreign deal happen.
  • It applies to all genres -- adult fiction, adult nonfiction, middle school, and YA fiction, and illustrated children's books. The webinar leader, Dr. Jan Yager, has sold foreign rights to ALL those genres for one or multiple titles!
  • Most of the time you need a PUBLISHED book to sell foreign rights. But you can start planning for it, and occasionally even sell, a proposal or a finished manuscript!
  • Dr. Yager has been profitably selling foreign rights since at the age of 25 she became the Director of Foreign and Subsidiary Rights for Grove Press, Inc., mentored directly by legendary publisher Barney Rosset.
  • Foreign sales can mean translations of your book, additional revenue, international publicity, and, on occasion, even an international author tour or speaking engagement.

Don’t miss out on how to tap into this lucrative market for your book.
