A multimedia light installation inspired by coastal landscape by Lilymay Healy, an artist from Galway who is currently pursuing an MA in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art. Lilymay makes work across a variety of media including textile, painting, print, sculpture, writing and installation. She is interested primarily in transforming her experience of nature in order to understand her relationship to her home, herself and her perception of reality.
Incorporating craft techniques such as embroidery and appliqué, these labour intensive processes give her work a temporal dimension and sense of significance to objects. She often incorporates mathematical and scientific imagery and concepts in her work and is interested in natural phenomena and underlying patterns in nature, infinity and the invisible. Her current body of work consists of embroidered textile installations that are inspired by the seaweed, rocks and shells found along the shoreline close to her home.
