Ask Better: A Hands-On Negotiations Workshop

You negotiate all the time. Scope and fee, schedule with a subconsultant, a raise, a title, who leads the next pursuit. Almost none of us have ever practiced it with a coach in the room. That's this session.

Join our WTS SF Bay Area Chapter wide event "Ask Better: A Hand-On Negotiations Workshop" led by Holly Schroth, distinguished teaching fellow and senior lecturer at UC Berkely Haas School of Business. Holly Schroth won't lecture at you about negotiation. She'll put you in one, then tell you what you did. You negotiate live, get direct feedback, and leave knowing your own habits under pressure.

Holly has taught negotiation at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business for 34 years to MBAs, undergraduates, and executives. She's also one of the leading authors of the negotiation exercises used by educators and trainers worldwide, so you'll work through the same material taught in business schools everywhere. Her PhD is in social psychology, which is why her approach is less about scripts and more about reading the person across the table.

You'll leave able to:

• Open and close a negotiation without damaging the relationship
• Manage emotion in the room, yours and theirs
• Deliver an ask that reads as confident instead of apologetic
• Name what you default to when things get hard
