ABOUT WTS

Founded in 1977, WTS is an international organization dedicated to building the future of transportation through the global advancement of women. With more than 6,500 members – both women and men -- WTS helps women find opportunity and recognition in the transportation industry. The Spokane-Coeur d’Alene Chapter of WTS formed in 2016, bringing professionals in the region together to discuss transportation initiatives, challenges and successes.

WTS stands for Women’s Transportation Seminar, which was how the organization was originally named in 1977. Back then, many companies did not support participation in professional associations by women employees, unless they were educational. But times have changed and now joining an association is an opportunity both women and men can use to network and grow professionally in their careers.
