The Blackheart Orchestra are not an orchestra, we’re a duo.
The ‘orchestra’ concept is that we’re two multi-instrumentalists, playing
13 instruments between us including guitar, bass, omnichord, piano,
organ and our collection of vintage synths in what is quite a unique
show. We play within a circle of instruments which has been referred
to as our 'musical space station' and draw on our backgrounds in rock,
folk, electronica and classical music to create a sound frequently
compared to artists from Pink Floyd and Mike Oldfield to Kate Bush and
The Cocteau Twins as well as modern composers like Steve Reich and
Philip Glass.
