Let us Spray!

With (Decreate) Join well-known local artist Dan ‘Decreate’ Wilson, who specializes in giant public murals, for Art workshops with a difference!
Dan has hosted these exciting and active skill-share workshops for a decade now for local organisations such as Chiltern Rangers, Wycombe Youth Action and Buckinghamshire Council, as well as in dozens of schools, festivals & events, and now is bringing them to the public at Wycombe Arts Centre.
You will get to create with dozens of spraycans, learning loads of tips & techniques, before creating your own canvas to take home, or participating in an Open Mural (a big artwork on the wall painted by many people) on the Arts Centre’s spraycan training wall.

We are running 2 types of workshop each day, please decide which is for you and
book early to avoid disappointment! Please note! This is NOT a kids activity- over
11’s only please (little ones cannot hold & therefore control the cans).

Family Spraycan Workshop (Have-a-go’ taster sessions for families & newbies) 10am – 12.15pm

We have 6 work stations consisting of a big board on an easel, and each can take up to 2 people . This is ideal for beginners and as a shared activity between friends, Dad & son, Mum & daughter etc who can work together.

You will be introduced to this exciting, fun medium with basic can control info, before getting stuck in and trying different techniques such as mark making, fades & fills, and stencils, before creating your own masterpiece on your supplied A3 canvas to take home (one per station).

All materials & PPE provided, please wear appropriate clothes/footwear. Soft & hot drinks available in our short break halfway through. Extra canvases available to purchase.
Solo paint station : one person £35, 2 Shared paint station : two people £55

Intermediate Spraycan Workshop (Skillshare Tutorials’ for progressives) 1.30pm – 3.45pm

We have 6 work stations and training walls for those who have maybe had a go previously, are a bit rusty, or want to improve their skills.

You will learn more advanced techniques such as sketching up, cap tests, cut backs etc, before working on your own supplied A3 canvas OR participating in an open mural.

Serious spraycan action, be it for street art, graffiti, muralism, Fine Art or just fun!

All materials & PPE provided, please wear appropriate clothes/footwear. Soft & hot drinks available in our short break halfway through. Extra canvases and spraycans available to purchase.

Solo Paint Station: one person only, £45

Notes:

Our PPE policy recommends wearing an apron, disposable gloves and a mask. If users have Asthma or other breathing condition, we have better quality masks.

The British WEATHER does not always play fair and if it is raining a lot we will not be outside. Instead, we will run our workshop inside the Old Church Theatre Space and use water-based Spraycans. We will not be able to do as much as outside so if anyone wants a refund instead, that will be fine.

Costs may seem a lot which is because this is a very materials heavy activity! Each can costs just under a fiver so we will not be ‘wasting’ paint! Extra canvases and some paints will be available to purchase on the day- cash payments only for these please.

Tutor Dan holds a DBS with Chiltern Rangers. If our groups are at capacity, we will also have an assistant joining us.
