Dear Business Owner,

We are acutely aware of the significant impact the ongoing road closure is having on local businesses and appreciate the frustration and disruption it continues to cause.

Wyre Council's Economic Development Team, in liaison with Food for Thought, The Crafty Company, Fleetwood, and The Small Business Academy, would like to invite you to a business support meeting.

At: Food For Thought (their new Anchor Point cafe which was Vape Corner), London Street, Fleetwood, FY7 6JH

On: Tuesday 8th September,  doors open at 5.30pm for meeting 6pm until 7pm.

The meeting will include:

✅ An update on future investment and regeneration activity planned for Fleetwood

✅ Marketing and promotional activity being developed for the lead-up to Christmas and beyond

✅ Information on the free business support currently available through Wyre Council and other delivery partners

✅ Local supported business success stories to inspire and encourage.

✅ Discussion on how we can work together more effectively through improved communication, collaboration and shared expectations.

Our focus

The purpose of this meeting is to focus on what we can do together:

  • Understand the challenges you, as business owners and managers are facing.
  • Identify immediate support needs and who can facilitate.
  • Share practical advice and assistance, and importantly appreciate the expectations of each other to help drive Fleetwood forward.
  • Help you remain positive, resilient and support your move forward to capitalise on the opportunities being created.

Thank you to local business owners Carol and Karl for offering to host this event at their new Cafe (within the road closure), which they hope to open soon.

Important information

Please note that this meeting is not to discuss the damaged building, highway closures or legal matters. Wyre Council is in regular communication with the building owner, and will continue to provide updates as progress is made. Each update will be shared both on the Councils social media channels and on the  news page of our website. Businesses requiring legal, insurance or professional advice should seek guidance from their insurer, membership organisation or a legal adviser. There is no hardship scheme available.

We hope you can join us and contribute to this constructive discussion about supporting Fleetwood's business community.

Places are limited due to space. Registry to attend will close on Monday 7 September.
