A series of seven workshops by artist Ann Carragher

Every Tuesday from the 3rd of September until the 15^th of October 2024

Ann Carragher is an interdisciplinary artist and educator who works with a diverse range of mediums. Her practice focuses on exploring spaces and places, both natural landscapes and urban environments, to investigate concepts of identity and belonging. Walking plays a crucial role in her creative process.

The unique architecture and captivating topography of Fleetwood's coastline and town, offer a rich source of inspiration, allowing workshop participants to explore various elements within an inclusive community setting.

Workshops are free but spaces are limited so booking is essential. ages 16+

It is advised to book all seven workshops to get the full benefit of the complete course

Unfortunately, workshops are on the 1st floor with no disability access at this current time.

(Packed lunch is advisable, however, food is also available to purchase in the Café market).

Week 1: Introduction & Initial Exploration

3^rd September 10am – 2pm

- Introduce participants to the project, its aims, and the benefits.

Week 2: Sensory Exploration & Mapping

10^th September 10am – 2pm

- Focus on sensory experiences during the walk.

Week 3: Thematic Exploration & Collaboration

17^th September 10am – 2pm

- Explore a specific theme in detail (e.g., public art, architecture, natural landscape).

Week 4: Found Objects & Site-Writing (words, images, feelings, place)

24^th September 10am – 2pm

- Incorporate found objects and site-writing into artistic practices.

Week 5: Personal Narratives & Emotional Mapping

1^st October 10am – 2pm

- Explore personal narratives and emotional responses.

Week 6: Consolidation and Resolution

8^th October 10am – 2pm

- Finalise individual and/or collective artistic maps.

Week 7: Final Synthesis & Exhibition Planning

15^th October 10am – 2pm

- Planning the exhibition.

An exhibition created from the workshops will take place in the Gallery in the market until the 24^thNovember 2024
