Finance has a huge role to play in creating a greener, fairer economy but as with many other industries, it’s lagging behind. The IPCC’s 6th Assessment Report calculated that public and private finance flows for fossil fuels are still greater than those for climate adaptation and mitigation. We need a transformation of the finance industry and a new kind of economy.
As 2024 comes into focus, we’ll discuss what finance companies should consider as their New Year’s resolutions. We’ll cover:
- The current GDP economy vs. a well-being economy
- The ever-changing language of sustainability
- The importance of accountability, disclosure and reporting
- The power of collaboration, engagement and advocacy
Our panel:
- Adam Garfunkel, Chief Impact Officer, Junxion (Chair)
- Damien Lardoux, Head of Impact Investing, EQ Investors
- Charlie Bronks, Head of ESG, Sustainability Lead, Crown Agents Bank
- Kimberly Ong, Origination and Client Engagement, Climate Risk and Resilience Team, Howden Group Holdings
- Nick Robins, Professor in practice – Sustainable Finance, LSE
- Rachel Fisher, Head of Global Credit & Sustainable Investing, QIC
