THE RIVER + Talkback Q&A
USA • ENGLISH • 88 mins
11:00am-1:00pm
The Colorado River is on the brink of collapse, and the rules that govern it expire this year.
Forty million people across the American Southwest rely on this river for drinking water and energy. Millions more depend on the food it grows.
If the negotiators for the seven basin states don’t reach an agreement by October, the federal government will impose its own rules for the river – likely triggering years of litigation that could reach the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, the survival of the river is at stake.
