Ever wonder how craftspeople make bowls, goblets, and other rounded items out of wood?

The answer is a wood lathe - a machine that turns the wood at high speeds so that artists can easily carve and shape it.

Lathe work is an art form allowing for endless creativity and personalization in the final product. It's fun and simple to learn.

In this 3-hour workshop, we will:

  • be introduced to the wood lathe and associated tools

  • learn the fundamentals of woodturning and different techniques

  • make a unique tealight candlestick from birch, cherry, and walnut woods.

About the instructor:

Amy Law is a woodworker and long-time woodshop instructor and safety orientation session leader at Yukonstruct.

Food will be provided. Maximum 6 spots.
