About Yom HaShoah UK

Yom HaShoah UK is dedicated to commemorating the Holocaust, honouring the memory of the six million Jews who perished, and preserving the legacy of Holocaust survivors and refugees who rebuilt their lives in Britain. Our mission is to unite the UK Jewish community in remembrance and education, ensuring that the lessons of the Holocaust remain a living force shaping our future.

Each year, we organise the UK Jewish Community’s National Yom HaShoah Commemoration, bringing together thousands from across the country to reflect, remember, and reaffirm our shared commitment to ensuring that the memory of the Shoah endures. As the number of living witnesses continues to diminish, this national gathering carries a growing responsibility to preserve their testimony and carry forward their legacy.

Beyond the national commemoration, Yom HaShoah UK works closely with schools, synagogues, youth organisations and community partners to embed Holocaust remembrance and education within Jewish communal life, inspiring new generations to uphold the values of memory, resilience and responsibility.

Our initiatives include:

National Commemorative Events: Bringing the community together each year at Victoria Tower Gardens, Westminster, the established home of the UK Jewish Community’s National Yom HaShoah Commemoration.

Educational Programmes: Developing resources and programmes for Jewish primary and secondary schools, youth movements and community groups.

Community Engagement: Encouraging synagogues, charities and organisations across the country to mark Yom HaShoah through local events, acts of remembrance and educational activity.

Join us on 13 April 2026 at Victoria Tower Gardens, Westminster, as the UK Jewish community gathers once again for its National Yom HaShoah Commemoration.
