Join His Majesty’s Sheriff of York for the annual banquet held on St George’s Day, this year in the oak panelled Boardroom of the 5 star Grand Hotel, built in 1906 as the North Eastern Railway Company's headquarters and a 'palace of business'. This magnificent room boasts stunning views of York Minster and the City Walls.

Guests will enjoy a glass of fizz in the White Rose Lounge before moving upstairs for a fine 3 course meal with half a bottle of wine, followed by port, coffee and chocolates.

This will be a night of civic splendour and pomp, with toasts to The King and the City of York. Music will be provided by the Eboracum String Quartet. This year’s after dinner speaker is the award winning BBC journalist and presenter Elly Fiorentini.

Main: Sous-Vide Yorkshire Lamb Rump (GF) or Aubergine Parmigiana

Pudding: Bitter Chocolate Fondant (V) or Yoghurt Ice Cream, Caramel Ganache

The banquet is open to past sheriffs of York and their guests. After the 28th February remaining tickets will be made available to members of other civic organisations.

Dress code is black tie (badges of office and decorations).
