South Bank People's Emergency Briefing

Fri 19 Jun 2026 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM Clements Hall, YO23 1BW

What’s happening with climate and nature, and what does it mean for us and our communities here in York?

Join us for a special York screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing, hosted by Clements Hall & Planet South Bank

Doors 7:30pm, with the film shown at 8pm.

The People's Emergency Briefing is an eye-opening film bringing together nine leading UK scientists and experts with the latest evidence and why it matters for things like:

🌧️ Extreme weather
🍞 Food security
🏥 Health
💷 Cost of living

The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing in that took place in Westminster (featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times) with appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden, Jennifer Saunders and a range of voices from across the UK.

After the film we will hear from featuring local people who have put their knowledge of the emergency into action in South Bank and hold discussion about what this all means for us here in York and how we can respond together locally
