Disability Justice: What is it and what does it mean for Funders?
Need help?
This session will be an interactive webinar exploring what disability justice is and what taking a disability justice approach to funding means in practice.
We will explore disability justice and what this means in practice for how we distribute money and what gets funding. The session will include a look at how we make getting funding more accessible and inclusive to marginalised communities. Finally, the session will probe the challenges and opportunities that taking a disability justice approach to funding offers.
The session will be a mixture of presentation, group work and discussion.
This session will be delivered by Zara Todd. Zara is a disability activist with a background in participatory grantmaking and facilitation. She has worked with a range of funders in the UK and overseas including The National Lottery Community Fund and Esmee Fairburn, designing and facilitating funding processes which centre on lived experience. Zara currently works on a variety of projects and programmes focusing on disability and social justice in the UK and internationally.
This session is free for Yorkshire Funders' members to attend (£20 for non-members). Please register for this session to reserve your place.
