YoubeYou – Ngāmotu Theatre for Youth is a vibrant amateur theatre club proudly operating under the charitable umbrella of YoubeYou Aotearoa. We champion an environment where anyone is welcome, regardless of ethnicity, culture, identity, ability or belief.

We have three membership sections: a junior section for ages 10–14, a senior section for ages 15–21, and an adult section for those aged 22 and above. While our adult section is non-performing, its members are a vital part of our organisation. They play an important role in mentoring our youth and sharing their knowledge, experience, and wisdom with younger members of our whānau.

We stage three productions each year: a junior production, a senior show, and a full ensemble musical or pantomime.

When selecting our shows, we prioritise positive messaging that supports healthy communities, alongside themes of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We also focus on creating meaningful learning and development opportunities for our members. And, of course, above all else, we make sure there is plenty of fun — because that’s the most important part.
