The Lord Mayor’s Show is the world’s oldest civic procession, and the Guild is privileged to play a prominent role by escorting the giant statues of Gog and Magog—ancient defenders of the City—under the watchful eye of our friends at the Worshipful Company of Basketmakers. This year’s procession will celebrate the installation of the new Lady Mayor, Alderwoman Dame Susan Langley DBE.
The day begins with an early breakfast of tea, coffee, and pastries in the vestry of St Michael’s Cornhill (8:30 am sharp). Members and guests will then robe up and proceed to the float for the procession (exact location confirmed on the day). The parade pauses on the Embankment around midday for refreshments, where a light lunch of a sandwich, drink, and snack will be provided. After returning to Guildhall, where the giants are displayed, there will be time to watch the close of the parade before we return to the vestry to deposit robes. We then conclude what promises to be a superb day with a three-course meal (choices will be made closer to the event) at Coq d’Argent, No. 1 Poultry, London EC2R 8EJ (drinks at the restaurant are to be purchased individually).
Tickets include: breakfast, parade entry, and the light lunch at the Embankment, plus the three-course buffet dinner (excluding drinks) and a talk from the Basketmakers’ Company about their livery and its work.
Places are limited due to the size of the float so early booking is strongly recommended. Guild members sadly cannot bring a guest or guests on this occasion. Bookings close Friday, 31 October 2025, or when sold out. Please note that bookings are non-refundable after this date, and booking fees are non-refundable to cover the Guild’s administrative costs.
