BeEnspired with YRP East Midlands: Depot Safety Awareness

#BeEnspired is back for another year with a great series of events coming up across the end of 2026 and into 2027.

The first of these events is a close look at depot safety awareness ran by Simon Maltby of AtkinsRéalis. Join other YRP members in an interactive talk about what goes on at a rolling stock depot and what to look out for should you find yourself on site.

Simon will be touching on the hazards found on site and the control measures in place to keep everyone safe along with typical depot protections and procedures. Following this talk you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of responsibilities for employees working under a client’s safe system of work but the main goal is to get you thinking about the risks so you don’t inadvertently compromise your safety.

This will be a great opportunity for new and old YRP members to not only update your knowledge on safe depot practices ready for getting out their yourself, but it will also be a perfect opportunity to network with other YRP members from across the industry.
