Meet Market: Queer and Kinky Speed Dating

Meet Market is a speed dating event for the Queer, kinky, and non- monogamous communities! This event is specifically for the folks who date “unconventionally” or otherwise have difficulty finding their match. Meet Market is open to anyone who defines themselves as available; whether you're a non-binary cutie looking for a date, a rope top looking for a bottom, a queer femme looking for a life partner, or a couple looking for their soulmates, we are creating space for you!

Participants will write their own bio before the night, giving them an opportunity to express themself and their wants in their own language. Meet Market will begin with a cocktail hour where our daters can anonymously submit themselves as 'interested in' people from the array of bios. Matching will happen throughout the evening, and be facilitated by our hosts. While you wait for your speed dates, enjoy the mixer vibe, chat with other daters, and partake in the free nibbles or cash bar.

How the speed dating works:

Once you buy a ticket you'll be send the intake survey about a week before the event where you'll enter some personal information, this will be your personal ad for the evening and will be the only information other Speed Daters will have before you get matched. As a Speed Dater you will both have the option to choose profiles, and have a personal ad posted.

When you arrive, you will be given an identifying number. In the first hour, there will be a board of personal ads posted and you will be given five numbered tickets to put in any five inboxes that appeal to you. Afterwards, the organizers will do some brief vetting and matchmaking and will arrange the Speed Dates. Hopefully all daters will have one to five 10 minute interactions through the rest of the evening, your matchmakers will keep you updated on where you're supposed to be!

While you're welcome to exchange info in person, at the end of your night you will have the chance to leave a list of names of anyone you met through the evening that you would like to connect with again. Our matchmakers will arrange contact between mutual connections while keeping all other information private (no one will know you “like” them unless they like you back).

By signing up for speed dating you agree to be set up on at least one ten minute Date. You are welcome to opt out or end the date at any point.

While not on a speed date we will have a party atmosphere with music where you can mix and mingle. We will have a $5 cash bar with beer and coolers and snacks. Non alcoholic beverages and light snacks will be available to everyone.

We will be asking everyone to sign-in as Members of Club YQLaborate at the door.

A note from the organizers:
This is the first time we are attempting to host an event of this type. We are making efforts to make this as consent focused and identity friendly as possible. We ARE taking feedback on how this can be a more enjoyable experience for everyone, and ALSO we encourage you to come out and try something new! The goal is to create a low-pressure environment where you can catch yourself a consenting cutie. If finances are a barrier for your entry please contact us to see if something can be done.
