Visual Storytelling: How to Boost Awareness & Engage Your Community
Wed 11 Oct 2023 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM EDT
Online, Zoom
Description
Summary: The most powerful stories you have are the ones shared by your own community. This deep dive into visual storytelling shares how your community stories can inspire donors, members, volunteers, and staff by making your mission and programming easy to see. You'll learn how videos and photos can transform a story into something more powerful than just words on a page and make a huge impact for your organization.
On this journey, Natalie will share the best types of visual stories to tell, how to collect them and what to do when you fail during a story collection campaign. Expect plenty of examples of well-done campaigns so you can apply those same tactics at your own organization.
This is for you if:
- Fundraising and event planning professionals working in the charitable sector looking to take their fundraising efforts to the next level.
- Marketing and communications professionals working in the charitable sector looking to upgrade their digital strategy.
- Anyone who is a part of a group or organization that relies on fundraising to support their cause.
Speaker: Natalie Monroe
Natalie is the Community Engagement Manager at MemoryFox. She is an avid book collector, loves music that makes her want to dance, and believes walk-up songs shouldn’t be reserved just for baseball players. After a career in the wine industry learning the intricacies of Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, Natalie landed in nonprofit with the military-to-ag movement, telling the stories of veterans turned farmers feeding our country. There she embraced content creation and the power of video messaging.
Now she gets to share the magic of the MemoryFox nonprofit story collection tool that would have been a game changer in her last role. When she’s not immersed in storytelling, you might find her volunteering with the local library friends in her community of Davis, California, co-hosting the ‘We Are For Books’ nonprofit book club, or pondering her next theme gathering. Natalie loves to explore national parks and aspires to visit all 50 state capitols, yet is equally content snuggled on the couch next to her kitties – Champ, Gracie (Goose) and Maverick.
