SONG OF A HUMAN WOMAN
brings to life a centuries-old sacred myth, inspired by
the Ainu peoples of Hokkaido, Japan. On stage in a live
videotaped performance, with Storydancer, Zuleikha and
Electric Violinist, Tracy Silverman, their collaboration
tells the legend of an ancient woman who marries a Divine
Thunder Being, and the sacrifice of Love, so that Music will
always live on Earth.
As stories are passed from storyteller to
storyteller, Zuleikha has rendered this story into
Storydance for live performance. Silverman’s expressive
virtuosity ecstatically enhances the poignant storytelling
and exquisite movement by Zuleikha, Storydancer
extraordinaire.
