This Privacy Notice explains how AlMaghrib Institute collects and uses your personal information when you register for and attend an AlMaghrib onsite seminar or event, regardless of the country or registration platform. This Notice supplements the AlMaghrib Master Privacy Policy available at almaghrib.org/policies/, which covers all AlMaghrib products and contains your full rights under applicable law.
1. Who We Are
AlMaghrib Institute, 2323 Clear Lake City Blvd, Suite 180-290, Houston, TX 77062, United States is the data controller for personal information collected in connection with onsite events in the United States, Canada, Australia, Europe, Malaysia, and Singapore. For onsite events held in the United Kingdom, AlMaghrib Foundation (registered charity number 1157315, England and Wales) is the data controller. Contact for all privacy matters: info@almaghrib.org.
2. What We Collect
When you register for an onsite event we collect your full name, email address, phone number, payment information, city or region, age, and student account details. We also collect an emergency contact name and phone number. On the day of the event we record your attendance. Where you contact us about your registration we retain that correspondence.
For US events registered through Eventbrite, your registration data is also collected and processed by Eventbrite, Inc. in accordance with Eventbrite's own privacy policy. AlMaghrib receives your name, email, and ticket details from Eventbrite to administer the event.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to process your registration and payment; to confirm your seat and send event communications; to issue seminar materials and manage attendance; to maintain your student record including credits, transfers, and refund history; to contact your emergency contact if a medical situation arises; to inform you about future AlMaghrib events and programmes (you may opt out at any time by contacting info@almaghrib.org); and to comply with our legal and financial obligations.
4. Who We Share Your Information With
Your registration information is accessible to your local Qabeelat coordinator to administer the event in your city. Payment information is processed by our payment provider. For US events on Eventbrite, your data is also held by Eventbrite under their privacy policy. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes and we do not sell your data.
5. Photography at Events
AlMaghrib may photograph and film onsite events for promotional and internal use. By attending you consent to the possible capture and use of your image. If you do not wish your image to be used, notify registrar@almaghrib.org before or at the event and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request.
6. Data Retention
Registration records are retained for indefinite - until requested for deletion or removal and payment records are retained for seven years. Attendance records are retained for ten years. Emergency contact information is deleted within six months of the event. If you opt out of marketing communications, your contact details will be retained as an unsubscribed record on AlMaghrib's marketing platforms to prevent inadvertent re-contact no further marketing communications will be sent. Opting out does not automatically delete your personal data. To request deletion of your personal data entirely, contact info@almaghrib.org. If you subsequently opt back into marketing communications through any AlMaghrib platform, your contact details may be reactivated.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, to object to marketing, and to withdraw any consent given. Contact info@almaghrib.org and we will respond within 30 days.
