The event organiser, Barkway Players, has the legal responsibility to tell ticket buyers and event attendees how their personal information will be collected and used. You can find their Privacy Policy below or contact them to request it.
We are The Barkway Players, a small amateur dramatic group based in Barkway in North Hertfordshire. We don’t collect much personal data – we’re not clever enough to use data from cookies, for example (although our web site uses them). But we are committed to keeping such personal data as we do collect safe.
Our full Privacy Policy appears on our web site.
Online ticketing
We use a platform called Ticket Tailor to sell tickets online. They have their own privacy policy which is clear that they act as data processor on our behalf, but the responsibility lies with us to tell you how we use your personal data. The system collects names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses. These are used solely for the purpose of issuing tickets and for informing you of any important information relating to a performance for which you have booked tickets. We do not share this information with anybody else, and we keep it only for as long as it is needed for this purpose.
Mailing list
We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to maintain a mailing list of those who have purchased online tickets. This is used solely for the purposes of informing you of any important information relating to a performance for which you have booked tickets. We do not share this information with anybody else, and we keep it only for as long as it is needed for this purpose.
We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve any such mailings. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice.
You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing our data protection officer Edwin Kilby by using the contact form on our web site.
Other data provided by you
If you email us we will use the email address solely for the purposes of providing you with a suitable reply.
General
Any personal data collected by us is kept securely on a password-protected computer. We will never share your information with anyone else without your explicit consent unless required or permitted to by law.
The circumstances in which the law requires or permits this are:
You have the right to make a Subject Access Request (SAR) to find out whether The Barkway Players holds your personal data and where, what it used for and to have data corrected if it is wrong. Any SAR will be dealt with within 30 days. If you would like to find out more about how we use your personal data or want to see a copy of information held about you, contact Edwin Kilby using the web contact form.
