Privacy Policy Members privacy is important.

Gunuma Lodge is a not-for-profit private company that collects, uses and stores personal information1 about individuals in the conduct of the day to day services of the organisation. Gunuma Lodge is not legally bound to follow Australian Privacy Laws as the business parameters are outside of the Australian Privacy Principles2 (APPs) specified threshold categories. However, as the APPs are considered best practice for privacy, Gunuma Lodge takes reasonable steps to safeguard information per these principles.

Gunuma Lodge maintains personal information (Member name, and those of family members, contact details such as address, email, telephone numbers and dates of birth) which has been provided for use in Lodge bookings and payments, as well as other payments associated with membership validity. Gunuma Lodge also uses the email addresses supplied to send information to Members. You can change your email address by contacting us at webmaster@gunumalodge.com.au and admin@gunumalodge.com.au.

Prior permission will be sought for use of photographs/videos of people where they are identifiable on the website or as part of Newsletter and other communications.

Gunuma Lodge currently applies best practice security to our software and to data storage. When you interact with Gunuma Lodge via the website, the system will send your computer a cookie which is then stored on your computer but which you can delete. A cookie does not personally identify you but tells us that your computer has visited our website and what pages of our website you viewed. The IT system does not store any credit card information, and none is held or transmitted via servers nor software.

The software receives information about payments from Paypal without any credit card details attached. All information input into the Gunuma database is stored on the cloud, specifically with Amazon Web Services, mainly in their Sydney facilities, although some backups are copied to Tokyo for additional security. Information downloaded from the Booking Service, that is, into a spreadsheet, for example to update addresses in an email sending service (such as Mail Chimp) will not be stored separately. Any downloaded information will be deleted once the reason for which it was downloaded is completed.
