Broad Recommendations/Summary

This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, management committee members, users and the general public.

The SRA will adhere to the terms of the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and all subsequent relevant legislation.

Declaration

By purchasing a ticket(s) for SRA events through any booking system (virtual or physical), purchasers agree to the terms and conditions of this refund policy and agree that this refund policy takes precedence over any refund policy of any online ticket seller (e.g. Ticket Tailor) or any online payment system (e.g. Paypal).

1. Ticketed Events

1.1 Events cancelled by the SRA.

Should the SRA be required to cancel a ticketed event, the SRA will contact ticket holders to offer the following three options:

b) the ticket will be transferred to another available event OR

c) the purchaser can donate the ticket price as a gift to the SRA.

1.2. Events postponed by the SRA.

a) a full refund to the person who bought the ticket/tickets only OR

b) the ticket will be transferred to another available event OR

c) the purchaser can donate the ticket price as a gift to the SRA.

1.3. Where events are cancelled or postponed by the SRA, the purchaser will be contacted

as promptly as reasonably possible to discuss the options available to them either via the ticket provider (e.g. Ticket Taylor) or by email or telephone or in person, by a member of the SRA Committee or designated subcommittee.

This contact will be within a reasonable timeframe and at availability of the purchaser.

No other cancellation or postponement costs will be covered by the SRA (officiant, stallholder, catering, accommodation etc). Any attendee will be expected to pursue recompense for any incurred costs from their insurance.

1.4. Amendments to ticket bookings

Should ticket holders need to amend their booking, for example to alter the number of adults or children attending, they should contact the SRA as soon as possible. It will be at the discretion of the SRA Committee whether or not to accept any alterations at any point later than seven days before the event. If any alteration amounts to a cancellation of any tickets, the provisions of clause 1.5 of this section of the policy shall apply.

1.5. Cancellation/Non-attendance by the ticket holder.

Purchasers are hereby reminded that under UK consumer legislation, ticket holders have no right to a refund if they cannot attend an event for which they have purchased tickets or if they choose not to attend.

Purchasers will be recommended to take out cancellation insurance where this is available.

These provisions notwithstanding, the SRA Committee or designated subcommittee will consider requests for made before the event for ticket refunds. Requests for refunds made after the event will be considered only in exceptional circumstances. The following factors will be considered:

• reason for cancellation

• number of tickets to be cancelled (part or whole refunds)

• health issues

• personal issues

• Other circumstances

A refund will be given only if the SRA Committee or designated subcommittee comes to a unanimous decision.

The following refunds may be given:

The purchaser will be informed of the decision in writing via e-mail or text. Only in exceptional circumstances will the purchaser be contacted in person.
