The event organizer, MEGATRUST, has the legal responsibility to tell ticket buyers and event attendees how their personal information will be collected and used. You can find their Privacy Policy below or contact them to request it.
Terms and Conditions
I. General
By accessing a website operated by Megatrust (referred to as “the company” in this agreement), a venture capital firm based in DR Congo, you ( referred to as “the participant,” “entrepreneur,” “registered user” and “contractual partner” in this agreement) declare that you have understood and accepted the following Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
II. Data Privacy Protection
We ensure highly compliant privacy protection for your data. However, Megatust is not responsible for any information that was illegally taken from our databases. The participant agrees to not take any legal actions toward the company due to cyberattacks.
III. African Business Festival Fees
The festival fee is fully refundable if a participant is unable to attend the event due to unforeseen circumstances.
IV. Events organized by Megatrust and/or its affiliated entities
The participant understands and agrees that the fee is refundable. The participant agrees to not take any legal action toward the company while refunding the fee. The participants also agree to not engage in any oral, visual, and/or auditory defamation of the company (especially if the participants do not agree with the category he/she was placed in) and understand that a breach of this clause will result in legal actions.
The company is not responsible for any loss, injury, and/or damage as a result of a substitution, alteration, cancellation, or postponement of an event. As such, Megatrust reserves the right to alter and modify the advertised speakers and topics as well as the date, time, and location of the events, without any liability whatsoever. Any substitutions or alterations will be updated on our web page immediately. We are not responsible for any loss and/or damage to the personal property of attendees.
In the case of either the event date or location (event venue) being changed, in general tickets/badges will remain valid.
V. Payment
Megatrust uses third-party providers, such as PayPal, Western Union, and Stripe to provide secure online payment services. The use of these services is subject to their Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. Please visit their website for more information about their Terms and Conditions.
Megatrust may request verification of payment to resolve possible disputes about the purchase, donation, and fee of the participant.
VI. Non-disclosure Agreement
“Confidential Information” shall mean any oral, written, visual, and/or other tangible forms of information, material, or know-how regarding any data, process, business plan, specifications, technique, program, business information, or other proprietary information relating to Megatrust and/or its affiliated entities, and disclosed, directly or indirectly, by Megatrust. Every participant, or partner of Megatrust (including every registered user) shall hold the Confidential Information and shall not disclose such information to any third party, even under a respective secrecy agreement between the contractual partner of Megatrust and such third party, and shall not use such information for its benefit or the benefit of any third party without the prior written consent of Megatrust.
VII. Liability
Megatrust will not be liable for any loss, injury, or damage to any person or property howsoever caused prior, during, and after events and festivals. Megatrust will not be responsible for any belongings that are lost or stolen. Each participant must make provision for his or her insurance.
Megatrust reserves the right to refuse admission to any event or conference for any behavior which it deems unacceptable, or for breach of the Terms and Conditions. Megatrust reserves the right to refuse admission and/or remove any participant who does not comply with the Behavioral Terms and Conditions at any given time. If the participant refuses to comply with his/her removal, the company will contact local authorities to remove the participant. The participant foregoes the right to take any legal actions against the company for the removal, refusal of admission, and/or unforeseen circumstances that may emerge for the violation of Expected Behavioral Terms and Conditions.
During the festival, audio, picture, and video recordings are allowed and can be used for press reports, social media, and on Megatrust websites as well as third-party websites. The rights of use by Megatrust can also be given to third parties both free of charge and against payment.
By purchasing your ticket to the company, the participants agree to grant the company permission to use the participant’s likeness in a photograph, video, or other digital media in any of its publications, including websites, brochures, social media platforms, reports, and any other marketing materials without payment or other consideration.
The company reserves the right to change the venue of the event amid any unforeseen situation.
VIII. Miscellaneous
Participants cannot sue Megatrust for any injuries sustained during the festival or any losses and damages. Suing Megatrust will result in the participant agreeing to pay the company all legal expenses after a verdict has been reached and up to $1,000 in emotional damages.
Any actions from the participant that cause libel, defamation, and/or slander to the organization will result in a permanent ban from all future Megatrust events, as well as a tarnished reputation of that person to Megatrust official partners.
The participant must professionally hold himself. All types of inappropriate behavior, which include unsolicited photos, invasion of personal space, unwanted advances, and all types of harassment, are strictly prohibited. Failure to comply with this will result in the removal and ban of the participants from the festival and the company platform as well as tarnishing the reputation of that person to Megatrust official partners.
Should one or more provisions of these Terms and Conditions be deemed invalid in whole or in part, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions hereof.
Selection and placement of delegates in given categories will only be decided by the selection board and cannot be challenged. The Company also reserves the option to allocate specific scholarships following the evaluation of the profile score of the applicant, ensuring meritocracy.
