Muntada Aid is a Data Controller and is a joint data controller in respect of the information that you have provided to us in order to enable us to process your donation. This means that Muntada Aid is responsible for the proper use and safe custody of your personal information.

Purposes of Processing and Retention Period

Muntada Aid has obtained from you some personal information from your donation. This information is sufficient to identify you and to enable your kind donation to be collected by the means that you have elected (such as debit card; cheque or electronic funds transfer).

The details of your personal information will include identity, contact details and bank account details if you are a regular giver (standing order/direct debit).

Furthermore, we are legally obligated to hold details of your donation for a minimum of six years from the end of the financial year that you made your last donation. This includes details of your identity. Your bank details and signature will also be retained within this period only if you were a regular giver (standing order/direct debit) and signed a donation form and this is for donor identification purposes to ensure we have an accurate audit trial to satisfy the legal obligation. We will also keep a record of donations subject to gift aid for six years to comply with HMRC policies. In addition, if you have provided your 16 digit card number to make a one-off donation, this number will not be stored in our records.

Lastly, if you have elected to receive further information from Muntada Aid for marketing purposes, such as through email or text messages, then we have to retain contact. This will not include your bank account details if you were not or are not a regular giver and we will hold your information with your consent to communicate our events and projects to you, or to encourage charitable donation or other marketing objectives. We may furthermore communicate with you via live telephone calls or via post mails even if you have not given us consent if we strongly believe you will want to hear from us, but you have the right to withdraw any marketing communication at any given time by contacting us through the following ways:

Email: info@muntadaaid.org

Telephone: 0207 118 0777
