Privacy Policy for Sea Change Together

The event organiser, Sea Change Together, has the legal responsibility to tell ticket buyers and event attendees how their personal information will be collected and used. You can find their Privacy Policy below or contact them to request it.

What personal data do we collect?

Sea Change Together (SCT) manages personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016. SCT is both the data controller and processor in the current context.

Whether SCT is the data controller or the data processor, we are committed to doing the right thing when it comes to how we collect, use and protect your personal data.

The personal data we collect are:

  • your name,
  • country of residence (so we can tailor course content to your location),
  • organisation (where applicable),
  • job title,
  • email address.

Optional provision of:

  • gender,
  • age,
  • work status,
  • ethnicity,
  • disability.

We will protect your privacy and any personal data that you provide in relation to the work we undertake and your contact with us will be stored securely and used only for the correct purposes.

Why we need your information and how we use it

SCT delivers Carbon Literacy Trust (CLT) training. We use prospective participants’ contact information to organise the course and CLT uses name, organisation (where applicable), job title, and email address to issue a Carbon Literacy certificate. The other information is optionally provided by participants to assist CLT with diversity monitoring. This information is provided on the evidence form that participants submit at the end of the course outlining the climate-related actions they intend to take.

Legal basis
We rely on GDPR Article 6 (1) (a) “the data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes.”

Who we may share your information with

As a participant on one of our courses, you will complete an evidence form providing some personal data along with two pledges to reduce greenhouse gasses. This form will be sent to the Carbon Literacy Trust for assessment. We will also keep your contact details for one year to check in and see how your pledged reduction actions are progressing.

Protecting your information

Your data will be stored in a computer file stored on a secure server hosted in Switzerland. Only Kate Stansfield and Josephina Worrall will have access to this file.

Your right of access

You have the right to access the data we hold on you and ask for it to be amended or deleted. Please contact hello@seachangetogether.com for any queries related to your data.
