The event organiser, Shediac Wonderland, has the legal responsibility to tell ticket buyers and event attendees how their personal information will be collected and used. You can find their Privacy Policy below or contact them to request it.
Updated 15 October 2026. The box office is run by Shediac des Merveilles Inc., trading as Shediac Wonderland, of Shediac, New Brunswick. We sell tickets to the Shediac Mascarade, the Shediac Renaissance Faire, Afterland, and the occasional banquet or feast that goes with them. Questions about this policy go to info@shediacwonderland.ca.
What we collect when you buy a ticket. Your name, your email address, your postal code, the tickets you bought and what you paid, the date and time of the order, how you heard about the festival, and, where you choose to give them, a mobile number and a dietary note for the feasts and banquets. If the order includes a child's ticket, we record the ticket type, not the child's name or age. We never see your full card number; payment is handled by our payment processor, which sends us a confirmation and the last four digits.
Why. To send you your tickets and bracelet instructions. To read the ticket at the gate. To reach you if a festival's dates, hours, or venue change, or if a festival is cancelled, which is the one case in which a refund is owed. To answer a question you've asked us. To keep the accounting records the law requires. And, only if you tick the box at checkout, to tell you about next year's festivals and the houses of Shediac Wonderland. We don't sell, rent, or trade your details, and we don't collect anything the box office doesn't need.
Who else sees it. Ticket Tailor, the platform this box office runs on, holds your order on our behalf on servers outside Canada. Our payment processor handles your payment under its own policy. Our email service delivers the messages above. Each of these companies works for us under terms that limit them to that job. Nobody else sees your details unless the law requires it, or an emergency on a festival site makes it necessary to protect someone.
How long we keep it. Order records for seven years after the festival, because tax and accounting rules ask for that. Your marketing consent until you withdraw it, which you can do from any email we send. Anything connected to an incident, a claim, or a complaint for as long as that matter is open, and then under our incident rules.
Your rights. You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw marketing consent at any time, by writing to info@shediacwonderland.ca. We answer within thirty days. If you aren't satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Photography and filming. We photograph and film our festivals and use the images to promote them. The full notice, in both languages, is on each festival's tickets page and at the gate. A guest who would rather not be photographed tells any festival host, and we stop.
Cookies. The checkout uses the cookies it needs to hold your basket and complete your order, and nothing that follows you elsewhere.
Children. Tickets are bought by adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under thirteen, and a child is never named in anything we publish.
Changes. When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and anything that matters to you gets an email.
