SSAC recognises that confidentiality of all SSAC Members, Staff, Board, Volunteers and Attendees is an essential principle of good practice and ethical behaviour.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this policy is to protect the privacy and confidentiality of SSAC Board, staff, members, attendees and stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
All SSAC Staff, Board and Members are responsible for ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of all who are part of the SSAC community.
The privacy of personal information is defined by legislation (Privacy Act 1988). SSAC acts in accordance with these legal requirements.
Collection of Information
Personal information collected by SSAC is used only for purposes directly related to the organisation’s functions or activities. These purposes include:
- SSAC Membership Groups and Board
- Enquiry about programs
- Ticketing for programs
- Mailing system
- Contractual/reporting purposes
- Event/Exhibition/Room Hire facilitation
Use and Disclosure
Use and disclosure of personal information is only for the purpose for which it is intended.
Data Quality
Reasonable steps are taken to ensure personal information is accurate, complete and up to date when collected and used.
Data Security
Data is kept safe from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Personal information that is no longer needed is destroyed or permanently de-identified.
