EVENT PRIVACY POLICY, MEDIA RELEASE, ASSUMPTION OF RISK & PARTICIPANT WAIVER

This Event Privacy Policy, Media Release, Assumption of Risk and Participant Waiver (“Agreement”) applies to tickets purchased for, attendance at, and participation in Survival Summit Live and related events operated by The Survival Summit, LLC (“The Survival Summit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
PLEASE READ THIS AGREEMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE PURCHASING A TICKET. IT CONTAINS IMPORTANT TERMS REGARDING PRIVACY, PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO RECORDING, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, RELEASE OF LIABILITY, AND OTHER LEGAL RIGHTS.
ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS
By purchasing a ticket to Survival Summit Live, completing checkout, electronically accepting this Agreement, or attending the event, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and voluntarily agree to this Agreement.
PURCHASE OF A TICKET CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF THIS EVENT PRIVACY POLICY, MEDIA RELEASE, AND PARTICIPANT WAIVER.
Where an affirmative electronic acknowledgment is provided during checkout, checking the acknowledgment box and completing the transaction constitutes your electronic acceptance of these terms.
If you do not agree to these terms, do not purchase a ticket or attend the event.
A person purchasing multiple tickets is responsible for providing these terms to the other attendees associated with the purchase. Each adult attendee may also be required to separately acknowledge this Agreement before admission.
PART I — EVENT PRIVACY POLICY
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
When you purchase a ticket, register for, communicate with us regarding, or attend Survival Summit Live, we may collect information including:
- Full name
- Email address
- Telephone number
- Billing information
- Ticket and order information
- Event registration information
- Emergency contact information, when requested
- Responses to registration or checkout questions
- Communications you send to us
- Marketing preferences
- Website usage and analytics information
- IP address, browser, device, and similar technical information
- Photographs, video recordings, and audio recordings captured at the event
Payment card information may be processed directly by our third-party payment processor. The Survival Summit may not receive or retain your complete payment card number.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We may use information collected in connection with the event to:
- Process ticket purchases
- Confirm registration
- Deliver electronic tickets
- Communicate event information
- Provide schedule, parking, venue, weather, or other event updates
- Verify admission
- Provide customer support
- Respond to questions
- Maintain event security
- Manage emergencies
- Prevent fraud or unauthorized transactions
- Maintain business and accounting records
- Improve future Survival Summit events
- Analyze attendance and customer activity
- Promote The Survival Summit and future events
- Send marketing communications when permitted by law
- Comply with legal obligations
3. PAYMENT AND TICKETING PROVIDERS
We may use third-party companies to operate portions of registration and ticketing.
These companies may include:
- Ticketing platforms
- Payment processors such as Stripe
- Email and communications providers
- Website hosting providers
- Analytics providers
- Customer relationship management and marketing platforms
These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and contractual obligations.
The Survival Summit does not sell your payment card information.
4. MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS
If you consent to receive marketing communications from The Survival Summit, we may send information regarding:
- Future Survival Summit events
- Preparedness education
- Courses
- Memberships
- Products
- Special offers
- Sponsors or partnerships
- Other Survival Summit programs
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link contained in the email.
Transactional communications concerning a ticket you purchased may still be sent even if you unsubscribe from marketing communications.
5. SHARING OF INFORMATION
We may disclose personal information when reasonably necessary to:
- Operate the event
- Process payments
- Provide ticketing services
- Send event communications
- Maintain security
- Provide emergency assistance
- Prevent fraud
- Comply with applicable laws
- Respond to lawful governmental or legal requests
- Protect the rights, property, or safety of The Survival Summit, attendees, staff, or others
We may also share information with contractors and service providers working on our behalf.
We do not intend to sell attendee personal information to unrelated third parties for their independent direct marketing purposes.
6. DATA SECURITY
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information under our control.
However, no internet transmission, computer system, electronic storage system, or database can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
7. DATA RETENTION
We may retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- Complete the purposes described in this Agreement
- Maintain business and financial records
- Document participant agreements and waivers
- Resolve disputes
- Protect legal rights
- Meet tax, accounting, insurance, or legal obligations
Participant waivers and records documenting acceptance of this Agreement may be retained for an extended period for legal and insurance purposes.
PART II — PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEO & AUDIO RELEASE
8. EVENT RECORDING NOTICE
Survival Summit Live is a public-facing event at which photography, video recording, and audio recording may occur.
The Survival Summit, its employees, contractors, photographers, videographers, media representatives, sponsors, and authorized representatives may photograph, film, livestream, or otherwise record portions of the event.
Recordings may include an attendee's:
- Image
- Likeness
- Appearance
- Voice
- Statements
- Participation
- Interaction with instructors
- Interaction with equipment
- Questions or comments
- Presence within the audience or event venue
9. MEDIA CONSENT AND RELEASE
By purchasing a ticket and attending Survival Summit Live, you knowingly and voluntarily authorize The Survival Summit, LLC and its authorized representatives to photograph, film, record, reproduce, publish, display, transmit, distribute, edit, and otherwise use your image, likeness, voice, appearance, and statements captured in connection with the event.
You authorize such material to be used in connection with:
- The Survival Summit website
- Social media
- YouTube and other video platforms
- Advertisements
- Promotional materials
- Event recap videos
- Future event promotion
- Educational materials
- Digital courses
- Email marketing
- Television, streaming, or online programming
- Printed materials
- Press and media
- Sponsorship materials
- Other lawful promotional, educational, editorial, or commercial purposes
This permission applies worldwide and in any media now known or later developed.
Pennsylvania law provides protections relating to unauthorized commercial or advertising use of a person's name or likeness. This provision is intended to constitute written authorization and consent to the uses specifically described in this Agreement.
10. NO COMPENSATION
You understand and agree that you will not receive payment, royalties, residuals, or other compensation because your image, likeness, voice, or statements appear in event photographs, recordings, advertising, promotional materials, or other authorized content.
Admission to and participation in the event constitute sufficient consideration for this media release.
11. EDITING AND APPROVAL
You authorize The Survival Summit to:
- Edit recordings
- Crop photographs
- Combine recordings with other materials
- Add music, graphics, captions, narration, branding, or other content
- Reproduce recordings in whole or in part
You waive any right to inspect or approve the finished photograph, video, advertisement, publication, or other material before its use, except where such waiver is prohibited by applicable law.
The Survival Summit will not knowingly use an attendee's likeness in a deliberately false or defamatory manner.
12. EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY BY ATTENDEES
Attendees may be permitted to take personal photographs or recordings subject to instructions provided at the event.
The Survival Summit may restrict photography or recording of:
- Certain presentations
- Proprietary materials
- Course slides
- Demonstrations
- Other attendees
- Staff-only areas
- Content designated as non-recordable
Attendees must comply with all instructions regarding photography or recording.
PART III — PARTICIPANT ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RISK & LIABILITY WAIVER
13. NATURE OF THE COURSE
I understand that Survival Summit Live is primarily an educational, seminar-style preparedness course.
Activities may include:
- Live presentations
- Whiteboard instruction
- Preparedness demonstrations
- Gear displays
- Equipment demonstrations
- Planning exercises
- Audience participation
- Question-and-answer sessions
- Examination or handling of certain equipment when specifically permitted
I understand that this event is primarily educational and is not represented as a wilderness survival expedition or physically strenuous field survival course.
14. EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION DISCLAIMER
Information provided during Survival Summit Live is provided for general educational purposes.
Nothing presented during the course constitutes a guarantee of safety or a guarantee that a particular preparedness strategy will be successful.
Information presented is not a substitute for individualized:
- Medical advice
- Legal advice
- Financial advice
- Law-enforcement instruction
- Emergency medical training
- Professional emergency-management advice
- Manufacturer safety instructions
- Specialized professional training
I remain responsible for evaluating information and determining whether it is appropriate for my circumstances.
15. ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RISKS
I understand that attendance at and participation in a live event involves known and unknown risks.
Risks may include, without limitation:
- Slips
- Trips
- Falls
- Contact with tables or displays
- Cuts or abrasions
- Pinching injuries
- Lifting or moving equipment
- Interaction with equipment or tools
- Equipment malfunction
- Improper equipment use
- Actions of other attendees
- Crowded areas
- Parking lots
- Walkways
- Stairs
- Venue conditions
- Allergic reactions
- Medical events
- Demonstrations
- Travel associated with the event
- Other foreseeable or unforeseeable risks associated with attending a live event
Some preparedness equipment may contain:
- Sharp components
- Cutting surfaces
- Moving parts
- Heavy components
- Heat-producing components
- Electrical components
- Stored energy
- Other potentially hazardous features
I agree not to operate, touch, handle, or use equipment unless specifically authorized by an instructor or member of The Survival Summit staff.
16. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY
I agree to:
- Follow instructions provided by event staff
- Follow venue rules
- Behave responsibly around displays and equipment
- Refrain from reckless behavior
- Immediately report unsafe conditions
- Participate only in activities I believe I can safely perform
- Ask questions if I do not understand an instruction
- Respect other attendees
- Refrain from disruptive, threatening, intoxicated, or unsafe conduct
I understand that participation in any optional demonstration is voluntary.
17. ASSUMPTION OF RISK
I KNOWINGLY AND VOLUNTARILY ACCEPT AND ASSUME THE ORDINARY AND INHERENT RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH ATTENDING AND PARTICIPATING IN SURVIVAL SUMMIT LIVE.
I understand that injuries, illnesses, property damage, and other losses may occur even when reasonable precautions are taken.
18. EXPRESS RELEASE OF LIABILITY FOR ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.
To the fullest extent permitted under Pennsylvania law, I voluntarily release, waive, and discharge:
The Survival Summit, LLC, Survival Summit Live, their owners, officers, members, employees, instructors, contractors, volunteers, representatives, agents, sponsors, affiliates, and the owners and operators of the event venue
collectively referred to as the “Released Parties,”
from claims for bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death, or property damage arising from my attendance at or participation in Survival Summit Live when such claim results from the ordinary negligence of a Released Party.
I EXPRESSLY UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT THIS RELEASE IS INTENDED TO INCLUDE CLAIMS ALLEGING THAT A RELEASED PARTY'S OWN ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE CAUSED OR CONTRIBUTED TO MY INJURY, DAMAGE, OR LOSS.
I understand that by accepting this Agreement, I am giving up the right to bring certain legal claims that I otherwise might have had.
Nothing in this Agreement is intended to release liability that cannot lawfully be released under Pennsylvania law, including liability arising from reckless or intentional misconduct.
19. EQUIPMENT DISCLAIMER
Equipment displayed or discussed during Survival Summit Live is provided for educational and demonstration purposes.
The Survival Summit does not guarantee that any particular:
- Product
- Brand
- Tool
- Equipment configuration
- Preparedness strategy
- Survival technique
is appropriate for every individual or every circumstance.
Before using equipment, attendees are responsible for:
- Reading manufacturer instructions
- Receiving appropriate training
- Understanding applicable laws
- Using appropriate safety equipment
- Maintaining equipment properly
- Determining whether equipment is appropriate for their intended use
Attending a demonstration does not replace proper training.
20. MEDICAL RESPONSIBILITY
I am responsible for determining whether I am medically and physically capable of participating in any event activity.
If I have a medical condition, allergy, physical restriction, or other circumstance relevant to participation, I am responsible for taking appropriate precautions.
In the event of a medical emergency, I authorize The Survival Summit or venue personnel to contact emergency medical services when they reasonably believe assistance is necessary.
I understand that I am responsible for medical expenses incurred on my behalf.
21. CONDUCT AND REMOVAL
The Survival Summit reserves the right to refuse admission or remove an attendee for:
- Unsafe conduct
- Threatening behavior
- Harassment
- Intoxication
- Illegal activity
- Disruption of the course
- Failure to follow safety instructions
- Violation of venue rules
- Interference with instructors or attendees
Removal for misconduct does not automatically entitle the attendee to a refund.
22. NO GUARANTEE OF RESULTS
Preparedness outcomes depend upon circumstances beyond the control of The Survival Summit.
The Survival Summit makes no guarantee that attending this event, following information presented during the event, or purchasing recommended equipment will prevent:
- Injury
- Illness
- Death
- Financial loss
- Property damage
- Emergency situations
- Losses caused by disasters or emergencies
The goal of Survival Summit Live is education and preparedness awareness.
23. AGE REQUIREMENT
Unless specifically authorized otherwise in writing, participants agreeing to this Agreement must be 18 years of age or older.
Attendance by minors, if permitted for a particular event, may require a separate parent or legal guardian consent and acknowledgment.
24. PENNSYLVANIA LAW
This Agreement shall be interpreted according to the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-law principles to the extent legally permissible.
If any provision is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
25. ENTIRE EVENT AGREEMENT
This Agreement forms part of the terms governing the purchase of a Survival Summit Live ticket.
By purchasing a ticket, electronically accepting this Agreement, or attending the event, I acknowledge that I have had an opportunity to review these terms before participation.
