Kids Summer Activity Series
Welcome to our Summer Children's Programme. Our aim is to provide a safe, enjoyable, and engaging environment where children can learn, make friends, and participate in activities while respecting the values and etiquette of the mosque.
Registration
- All children must be registered before attending the programme.
- A parent or guardian must complete the registration form and provide accurate contact and medical information.
- Any changes to emergency contacts or medical information should be communicated to the organisers immediately.
Attendance
- Children should arrive and be collected on time.
- If your child is unable to attend, please inform the organisers as early as possible.
- Regular attendance is encouraged to help children benefit fully from the programme.
Parent/Guardian Responsibilities
- Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring their child arrives and is collected safely.
- Children may only be collected by a parent, guardian.
- Parents/guardians must remain contactable throughout the duration of the programme.
Health and Medical Information
- Parents must inform organisers of any medical conditions, allergies, dietary requirements, disabilities, or additional support needs before the programme begins.
- Medication should only be brought if absolutely necessary and must be discussed with organisers in advance.
- In the event of illness or injury, parents or emergency contacts will be contacted immediately.
Behaviour Expectations
To ensure a positive experience for everyone, children are expected to:
- Treat staff, volunteers, and fellow participants with kindness and respect.
- Follow instructions from organisers and volunteers.
- Respect mosque facilities, equipment, and property.
- Use appropriate language and behaviour at all times.
- Respect the sanctity of the mosque, including prayer areas and times of worship.
- Participate safely in all activities.
Bullying, aggressive behaviour, discrimination, or deliberate damage to property will not be tolerated. Organisers reserve the right to contact parents and, where necessary, withdraw a child's place if behaviour places themselves or others at risk.
Safety
- Children must remain within designated activity areas unless supervised.
- Children should not leave the mosque premises without permission from organisers and their parent or guardian.
- Running in prayer halls, corridors, or other restricted areas is not permitted.
- Children must follow all health and safety instructions given by organisers.
Food and Allergies
- Parents are responsible for informing organisers of any allergies or dietary requirements.
- While reasonable care will be taken, the mosque cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
- Children should not share food with others unless instructed during organised activities.
Photography and Media
- Photographs or videos may be taken during the programme for use on the mosque's website, social media, newsletters, or promotional materials.
- Images of children will only be used where parental consent has been provided.
- Parents who do not wish their child to be photographed should indicate this on the registration form.
Personal Belongings
- Children should avoid bringing valuables, electronic devices, or large amounts of money.
- The mosque accepts no responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings.
Safeguarding
The safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. All staff and volunteers are expected to follow the mosque's safeguarding procedures. Any safeguarding concerns will be dealt with appropriately and, where necessary, referred in accordance with safeguarding guidance.
Emergency Procedures
In the event of an emergency, organisers will:
- Contact the parent or emergency contact using the details provided.
- Seek appropriate medical assistance where required.
- Follow the mosque's emergency and evacuation procedures.
Cancellation and Changes
The mosque reserves the right to amend the programme schedule, activities, or cancel sessions where necessary due to unforeseen circumstances, safety concerns, or insufficient attendance.
Agreement
By registering your child for the Summer Children's Programme, you confirm that:
- The information provided is accurate and complete.
- You have informed organisers of any relevant medical or additional support needs.
- You have read and agree to this policy.
- You understand that the organisers reserve the right to remove a participant whose behaviour compromises the safety or wellbeing of others or disrupts the programme.
