📢 🎃 𝖂𝖊𝖉𝖓𝖊𝖘𝖉𝖆𝖞 𝟐𝟗𝖙𝖍 𝕺𝖈𝖙𝖔𝖇𝖊𝖗 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 - 𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝕳𝖆𝖚𝖑𝖌𝖍 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝕷𝖊𝖛𝖊𝖗𝖍𝖚𝖑𝖒𝖊 𝕻𝖆𝖗𝖐 𝖋𝖗𝖔𝖒 𝖄𝖊 𝕺𝖑𝖉𝖊 𝕸𝖆𝖓 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝕾𝖈𝖞𝖙𝖍𝖊. 🎃

⛰️ 7km, or 4.3 miles - 100m ascent - 2 hours.

🟢️ A VERY EASY semi-urban walk with mostly FLAT, WELL SURFACED PATHS. Some areas of MUD and UNEVEN TERRAIN, and BUSY ROAD CROSSINGS.

🥾 STURDY FOOTWEAR is essential, dress appropriately for the weather and consider using poles.

🕖 Meet from 18:30 to leave at 19:00. Social drinks afterwards from 21:00.

🚗 There is LOTS of public transport to Bolton town centre from all around the North West. Parking is also available on Churchbank, Silverwell Street and around the town. Public transport and car pooling is encouraged. Wherever you do park, please take care not to block access for local residents and businesses, ALWAYS check signage before leaving your vehicle.

ℹ️ Anybody with good mobility and even a basic level of fitness is welcome to attend.

👻 A special guest Paranormal Investigator, Mark Tonge, is coming to join us in the Scythe after the walk to give a talk about the pub ghosts and the supernatural in general. All from the community are welcome to join, it's hard to give an exact time but it will be after 21:00.

🎵 There will also be Halloween-themed live music in the pub from Bolton Ukulele Group (BUG).

🧛🏻 Fancy dress is optional but encouraged as a bit of fun. Please make sure any costumes are appropriate for walking in the dark.

BWOAS PRIVACY POLICY

Bolton Walking and Outdoors Appreciation Society is a community collective of volunteers, friends and members of the public. Walks are organised by individuals who volunteer their free time to take part in the outings.

1. Adult participants must acknowledge that they are responsible for their own actions, safety, wellbeing and personal property, and are equally responsible for and have a duty of care over any accompanying children and young people under the age of eighteen at ALL TIMES during an activity.

2. Participants must fully understand that any activity advertised by Bolton Walking and Outdoors Appreciation Society is NOT A PROFESSIONALLY GUIDED WALK. Volunteers who assist in organisation, managing the group and navigating on the day do so on a peer to peer basis and ARE NOT personally responsible or otherwise liable for any accidents, loss of or damage to personal property or any emergency medical care that may be required.

3. Important personal medication must be carried during each activity and, where appropriate, a volunteer can be discreetly told of the whereabouts of any such items in the event of an emergency. This includes asthma inhalers and autoinjector pens. Participants must read all advertised information available and be sure that they are fit and well enough to attend an activity. THIS IS WHOLLY THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PARTICIPANT OR RESPONSIBLE PARENT OR GUARDIAN OR A CHILD IN THEIR CARE UNDER THE AGE OF EIGHTEEN.

4. Volunteers and other experienced group members may offer advice during the activity but it should be understood that this IS NOT PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE from a trained professional. It is the responsibility of each individual participant to make their own judgement and proceed as they see fit should a a safety issue arise.

5. Anybody taking part in a BWOAS walk should be aware that participants and volunteers in the group will capture images and video clips that WILL then be shared online via social media. Participants are welcomed to send such images to BWOAS to share on the walking group social media and other online platforms.

Participants booking for themselves or a child or young person under the age of eighteen in their care acknowledge that they have understood and agree with the above statements by booking onto any advertised activity.
