🥁 Family African Drumming Workshop with Kay Smith

🔥 Experience the joy of drumming together as a family

Learn to play the African Djembe in a live drum circle led by Kay Smith.
Explore the "bass, tone, slap" sounds of the drum and discover why African drumming is so irresistible and immersive. It's a brilliant way to spend an afternoon together, spark creativity, and make the kind of memories screens just can't give you.
Drumming is the oldest form of communal musical bonding there is. Expect to play, and expect to move: there's room to dance to the beat too. Whether you're 6 or 60, Kay will have the whole family drumming and making memories together in no time at all.

Why children love it

Children take to drumming instantly - there's no right or wrong, just sound, rhythm and permission to make a glorious noise. It's hands-on and active from the first beat, so there's no sitting still and no screens. Learning the "bass, tone, slap" gives them a real sense of achievement, while playing as part of a circle builds confidence, listening and turn-taking without it ever feeling like a lesson. Kay is wonderful with children: warm, patient and encouraging with kids, so even shy children will feel nurtured and heard.
