Events list

The Edinburgh Women’s Fiction Festival is back for 2025!

This year's festival will take place on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th September 2025, in our lovely new venue of Christ Church Morningside - just five minutes walk from Bruntsfield Links and a short bus ride from the city centre.

Tickets
Our festival strongly believes in paying our authors, chairs, and workshop leaders the fee recommended by the Scottish Book Trust, which has increased in the past year (which is wonderful for our authors!). This has meant an increase in some ticket prices, but we are certain you’ll think it’s worth it! All festival passes are reduced to reflect the move of our indie panel to a workshop event.

2025 Programme
Details of our full programme will be announced soon. The line-up can be found on our website as authors are revealed.

New for 2025
Friday 26th September will be Writers’ Day, featuring workshops led by industry professionals and panels geared towards aspiring authors wishing to hone their craft. Plus, our popular Agent Speed Dating session will return for 2025. There will also be two author panels in the evening and all are welcome.
Saturday 27th September will include six more panels of authors and publishing professionals discussing a variety of themes and ideas for readers, writers, and book lovers alike.

We’re delighted to announce that this year’s festival will take place at Christ Church Morningside (directly across the road from our 2023 and 2024 venue). Christ Church has a sophisticated, newly upgraded sound system including a hearing aid loop in the sanctuary. Our festival bookshop (run by The Edinburgh Bookshop) will be located in the church hall alongside book merch makers stalls and a pop-up cafe (courtesy of Coffee Inc Bruntsfield), giving festival goers more space to browse, buy books, and relax before, between, or after events. Workshops and smaller events will take place in the adjacent Centre and a food truck run by Pizza Geeks will be parked up outside on Saturday.

About the Festival
The Edinburgh Women's Fiction Festival is a literary festival celebrating writing for, by, and about women. We are an inclusive event and welcome everyone who finds joy in reading women's fiction - commercial, romance, historical, literary, book club and beyond. Our festival showcases authors of genres that are often overlooked, and our aim is to give readers the opportunity to connect with their favourite writers.
