Step back in time to the 1980s and learn about the homophobic legislation that galvanised a generation of LGBTQ+ people in Britain to start a quintessentially queer rebellion to fight for their rights".
Liz Hendy is a PhD student in the Institute of Gender Studies at the University of Chester. Her research documents the personal histories of queer women and nonbinary people who were in school under the shadow of Section 28, highlighting the impact of the legislation and the role of popular culture in the lives of a generation made invisible in mainstream history and cultural memory.
