People's Emergency Briefing

Peterborough Green Party is bringing a unique and timely event to the city with the first local screening of The People’s Emergency Briefing — a film that is not available for general public release.

Peterborough Green Party consider it our duty to bring communities and Councillors together for this important film and following discussion.

We look forward to welcoming residents, campaigners, small businesses, care providers and all representatives of our city to explore the film’s content, how we best implement suggestions and work together for our futures.

The screening will take place on Wednesday 19 August at the George Alcock Centre, Whittlesey Road, Stanground, Peterborough PE2 8QS, with doors opening at 6.30pm and the film starting at 7pm.

The event is expected to attract leading members of Peterborough City Council and the Cabinet, alongside residents, community groups and campaigners interested in how the city is prepared for climate breakdown and its social impacts.

Topics on the agenda include:

• Nature protection and biodiversity enhancement
• Food security and local resilience
• Homelessness and displacement
• Community preparedness for climate impacts
• The Council’s climate obligations and objectives

The event will give residents an opportunity to ask direct questions about how local authorities are planning for the future and supporting vulnerable communities.
