Every year we get loads of web hits from all over the country for our Full Moon and night swims and obviously it's a long way to come for a single swim....so this year we've incorporated the night swim into a weekend swimming holiday! Seemed like a no-brainer! This year we're avoiding the full moon and going for a stargazing evening swim. With less light from the moon, the sky is darker and highlights the stars... 

The staff are incredibly well drilled from a season of guided swimming activity and are quite relaxed, as it's the last holiday before the winter break. This holiday is always loads of fun! The water is always a decent temperature at this time of year and Cornwall has quietened right down. The car parks are quieter, we have more flexibility with parking, cafe/restaurants are quieter...

We're offering our usual stunning Roseland/St Mawes swimming holiday but with a slight twist. This year we're expanding the area we'll choose the swims primarily from the red area below and potentially expanding the area to the orange if necessary. This allows us to include some amazing options and areas, such as the Roseland Peninsula and St Mawes, the Helford, north Lizard Peninsula, possible ferry journey across to St Mawes from Falmouth (video below)...

*Night swim included as part of the holiday and as a one-off entry event, with a post-swim BBQ dinner as part of the event (vege option available). Holiday participants will fill the 7.55pm slot. 

'End of summer camp'. With the water still nice and warm in the Sept months we thought it was a great idea to finish on a high.

This will be a very casual, slow-to-medium paced swimming holiday. With flexible distances per swim. We're looking at putting on 3 stunning swims and the night swim :

1 x Friday (late afternoon)

1 x Saturday (lunch time), 1 x night swimming event

1 x morning lake dip (9-11am) *Not included in the holiday price but is available for a small fee - CLICK HERE

1 x Sunday morning (likely 12.30-1pm)

Swims will be anywhere from 300-1500m per swim, depending on the swimmers preference. We'll look at the conditions 2-3 days prior to the holiday and send out an itinerary, based on this more accurate forecast. 

ACCOMMODATION

We'd recommend staying at Via ferratta Campsite (which is on the BF Adventures site - where the night swim takes place). The campsite (TR10 9BX) is right in the middle of the potential swims we're looking to carry out, there's a cafe on-site, makes the night swim nice and convenient and the campsite is only available to Sea Swim Cornwall's swimmers, as it's typically shut this time of year! Another option open to groups bookings only are the cabins. These are very affordable (at £50 per night) and straight forward cabins on-site, that offer bunk beds. Offering a comfortable bed, BYO pillow and bedding. Ideal for small to large groups of friends (max capacity 12). Bernadette can give you more info regarding both.

The nearest supermarket is just a 10-minute drive away and you can enjoy a BBQ on our beautiful site. If you’d prefer to let someone else do the cooking, there is a Café on-site which is run by The Cornish Barista and serves delicious breakfasts, brunch, lunch and cakes, with vegan options.

We also have free Wi-Fi, although with our nature and adventure activities, this is the place for a digital detox!
