Raise a Glass for Ryan 2022

Our annual Raise a Glass for Ryan celebration is how The Ryan Andrews Newton Fund started and has become our flagship event.  Ryan Newton passed away from misdiagnosed and mistreated malaria in spring 2015 just after turning 25 and returning to the US from a teaching stint in Ghana.  Ryan's friends and family came together to commemorate his legacy by establishing Ryan's Fund, which empowers youth, through entrepreneurship, athletics, and performing arts by donating funds in his memory to nonprofit organizations whose activities embody Ryan's spirit, talents, and life.  Ryan loved kids and had an incredible impact on their lives through his work. With his bright eyes, broad smile, and infectious laugh, kids adored him too.  Through Raise a Glass for Ryan, we are honoring Ryan's love of celebrating important occasions :-) and his legacy of improving and positively impacting children's lives.

We are excited to announce a new venue for our fun, inspiring, and interactive event this year: Raise a Glass for Ryan 2022 will be in our own private space, The Green Room at Haswell Green's (see photos below).

Your ticket includes 1 drink (wine/beer/soft drink), hors d'oeuvres, sliders, artisan pizza, and cupcakes donated by Georgetown Cupcake!  Ticket prices cover the cost of the event and will increase on the 19th, 22nd, 24th, and 25th so be sure to get your ticket soon! (which will also help us with our planning)

Programming will include a special performance by a student at one of the nonprofit organizations we support, Building Beats.

Our live auction was so exciting and successful at last year's virtual celebration that we decided to bring it back!  With Konstantine's excellent skills, we will be live auctioning a very special item at Raise a Glass for Ryan again this year. 

Attire is casual.  Feel free to wear bright colors in Ryan's honor.  

Note on Covid 19: Feel free to wear a mask when not eating or drinking.  We've arranged for Haswell Green's to keep the large windows on the left side of The Green Room open all evening.
