See what people who've switched from Eventbrite say about their experience and difference in fees with Ticket Tailor

I've been using TicketTailor for 2 years now for often complex ticketing setups. The product is as useful as EventBrite and we use it for all our courses and events. It's way cheaper than EventBrite for us, they are a B-corp and their customer service is second to none
The platform is very intuitive and easy to use, yet very flexible and versatile. Chat support has been very fast and helpful. Appreciate the many features and sleek feel to the finished pages. Incredibly low fees for what you get. Much preferred to Eventbrite.

Not just Eventbrite but as an alternative to integration into our woocomerce website (Events Calendar Pro and Ticket Pro) Much easier to use, no security updates, spread the cost as pay you go rather than upfront.

I’ve used several ticketing platforms over the years, including Ticketmaster, Eventbrite, and DesignMyNight, and I can confidently say that Ticket Tailor stands out as the best.

We switched because Eventbrite were sitting on the income from workshops for several days after the event. Badly impacted cash flow. It was more expensive to use.

Its more straightforward than Eventbrite, affordable with a transparent payment system (including Stripe integration) and I love all the customisable options. 10/10 from me!

All you need to know about Eventbrites fees

How much does Eventbrite cost in the UK?

Eventbrite charges UK organisers a single bundled rate of 6.95% + £0.59 per paid ticket, with payment processing included. There is no separate processing fee to add on top, and no monthly subscription for the standard ticketing product. Free events incur no fees at all. Optional add-ons include Eventbrite Pro (from $15/month, billed in USD) for enhanced marketing, and Eventbrite Ads for paid promotion. Chargebacks passed through by the payment processor (typically £10 to £20 per dispute) are charged to the organiser.

What are Eventbrite's fees per ticket in the UK?

The total UK fee per Eventbrite ticket depends on the ticket price. On a £15 ticket, Eventbrite takes £1.63 in total fees (10.9%). On a £30 ticket, £2.67 (8.9%). On a £50 ticket, £4.07 (8.1%). On a £150 ticket, £11.02 (7.3%). Cheaper tickets pay a higher effective rate because the £0.59 fixed component is a larger share of the ticket price. The 6.95% percentage scales with the ticket price; the £0.59 fixed component does not.

What is Eventbrite's service fee in the UK?

The UK Eventbrite service fee is 6.95% of the ticket price plus £0.59 per paid ticket, with payment processing included. This is the single headline rate UK organisers pay; there is no separate processing fee to add on top (unlike the US structure). The service fee applies to every paid ticket sold and is non-refundable if the event is later cancelled or refunded to the buyer. Free events do not incur a service fee.

What is an Eventbrite booking fee in the UK?

The Eventbrite booking fee is the total charge added at checkout in the UK on top of the ticket price when the organiser passes fees to the buyer. On a £50 UK ticket where the organiser passes fees on, the booking fee is £4.07. On a £30 ticket it is £2.67. Because UK processing is bundled, the booking fee is a single line rather than a stacked service-plus-processing figure. Organisers can also absorb the booking fee themselves rather than pass it to the buyer, in which case it comes out of the ticket revenue and the buyer sees the ticket price only.

Are Eventbrite service fees refundable if a UK event is cancelled?

No. Eventbrite's UK service fees are non-refundable, including on cancelled events. If an organiser refunds a ticket to a buyer, or if the event is cancelled, Eventbrite retains its cut of the original transaction. This applies regardless of who initiated the refund. For an event with even a modest refund rate, the organiser pays Eventbrite on every ticket sold, including the ones that never produced net revenue. Payment processing fees are typically refunded when the transaction is refunded, but because UK processing is bundled into the headline rate, the practical effect is that Eventbrite keeps the full 6.95% + £0.59 per refunded ticket.

What is Eventbrite's pricing for UK nonprofits and charities?

Eventbrite does not offer a discount on the base ticket fee (6.95% + £0.59) for UK charities or nonprofits. Registered UK nonprofits do get a 50% discount on Eventbrite Pro subscriptions, but Pro is the enhanced marketing product, not the ticketing fee itself. Free events remain free to host. UK charities looking for genuinely reduced ticketing fees typically compare Eventbrite to Humanitix (3.33% + £0.25 per ticket for registered charities and schools, plus 100% of profits to education charities), Ticket Tailor (£0.11 + VAT per ticket, a 50% discount off the standard rate, plus Gift Aid support), and TicketSource (Gift Aid support plus a UK-native reputation with charitable venues).

Are free events on Eventbrite really free in the UK?

Yes. Free events on Eventbrite are free to host in the UK. Eventbrite charges no service fee, no processing fee, and no subscription for events where every ticket is free. Fees only apply to paid tickets. This makes Eventbrite a reasonable choice for free UK community events, RSVP-only gatherings and free workshops. If a paid ticket type is added to a free event, standard UK fees (6.95% + £0.59) apply to those tickets only.

How does Eventbrite compare on cost to other UK ticketing platforms?

Eventbrite is more expensive than most UK ticketing platforms on typical ticket prices. On a £30 ticket, total UK Eventbrite fees are around £2.67 (8.9%). On the same ticket: Ticket Tailor £0.95 including Stripe UK, Humanitix £2.02 including Stripe UK, Weezevent £1.74, TicketSource £2.10 bundled. The gap widens on higher-priced tickets because Eventbrite's percentage scales while flat-fee platforms don't. On a £150 UK ticket, Eventbrite takes £11.02 versus Ticket Tailor's £4.85 including payment processing.

Can I pass Eventbrite fees on to the buyer?

Yes. Eventbrite lets organisers choose whether to absorb fees themselves or pass them to the buyer at checkout. If fees are passed on, the buyer sees a booking fee added on top of the ticket price. If fees are absorbed, the ticket price stays the same for the buyer and Eventbrite's cut comes out of the organiser's revenue. Under the FTC's junk fees rule (in force from May 2025), any passed-on fees must appear in the headline advertised price in the US, not only at the final checkout step.
