Is Eventbrite the right event management tool for you? To save you the trouble of scouring review sites, we’ve put together a summary of Eventbrite reviews and ratings across four leading review platforms: GetApp, TrustPilot, Capterra and G2

Let’s go.

⭐ How does Eventbrite score on review sites?

Average rating: 3.7/5

Highest score: Eventbrite scores highest on GetApp and Capterra, with an average review score of 4.6 on each platform.

Lowest score: Eventbrite fares badly on TrustPilot, with an average review score of just 1.2.

📣 Eventbrite review highlights

According to reviews, Eventbrite has a robust set of features and is really easy to use. It’s praised for its marketing and promotional tools. And scores highly when it comes to streamlining all aspects of event management. Both event attendees and organisers love Eventbrite’s discovery feature. This helps attendees find relevant events in their local area, and acts as a useful marketing tool for organisers.

On the flipside, Eventbrite has accrued a lot of bad reviews for its customer service (or lack thereof). Frustrated users berate Eventbrite for being impossible to get through to, even when it comes to scams and refunds. Speaking of scams, reviews highlight that the platform has a serious problem with fake and wrongly advertised events (hence its low TrustPilot score). Plus, event organisers claim Eventbrite has held onto money they believe is rightfully theirs. Other negative reviews highlight issues with platform security, and overly-expensive fees.

👀Let’s take a closer look at what users have to say.

✅ Eventbrite pros

  • “What I liked most about Eventbrite is its user-friendly interface and robust features that make event management and ticketing incredibly efficient.”
  • “Eventbrite is very simple and easy to navigate. It makes setting up events easy. There’s a category for everything.”
  • “The seamless integration with social media and email marketing [...] made it easy to promote events and reach a wider audience.”
  • “The platform is intuitive, allowing organizers to easily create, promote, and manage events of all sizes.”
  • “I love using Eventbrite because it allows me to find local events in any and every city whether I’m at home or travelling. I love the ease of being able to find local events and following some of my favorite event producers and promoters!”

Eventbrite cons

  • “No customer support, rampant fraudulent purchases, customers don't receive their tickets, security breaches releasing personal information via regular hacks…”
  • “A company that has no phone or email communication with its customers. Soooo unacceptable.”
  • “I recently used it to host a paid event – that's when I ran into delays in paying out the funds that attendees paid to my event. After event completion – eventbrite put the payout on hold and asked for documentation to prove legitimacy of me and the event.”
  • “IMPOSSIBLE to speak with anyone in customer services. I cannot receive payment and keep receiving email messages to receive my payment and cannot speak with anyone.”
  • “A downside is the steep fees, particularly for high-ticket events.”
  • “Eventbrite holds your money as if it were theirs. Worse, they justify it by saying it is for your own good.”

🗣️ Eventbrite reviews: Key talking points

Here’s a quick summary of themes that crop up in Eventbrite reviews across various platforms 👇:

Features & tools

Many Eventbrite users praise the platform for its robust set of features, which seem to help with most aspects of event management and ticketing. For example, users like the platform’s:

  • Social media and email marketing integrations
  • Lead generation capabilities
  • General event management tools
  • Discoverable business profiles
  • Analytics tracking features
  • The ability to respond to questions from potential attendees through the Eventbrite system

Customer service

While many rate Eventbrite’s customer service highly, there are also lots of reviews from disgruntled users who have had a bad experience with it. Users seem particularly frustrated by how hard it is to actually get to speak to anyone, with reviews stating that the phone line often goes unanswered.

There also seems to be a problem with the way Eventbrite handles things when users do get through, with one reviewer calling Eventbrite “The world’s unfriendliest business”.

Scams & funds access

This lack of customer service poses a real problem to those who are encountering scams, or struggling to get access to money they feel is rightfully theirs. Trustpilot is filled with reviews from ticket buyers who feel they’ve been ripped off, like this one:

“Agree with all other reviewers. We booked/paid for an event on Sat morning. Travelled 45 mins to event to find the hall locked & no event taking place. We later found that it had been cancelled several days earlier but eventbrite still took our money. No customer service, & although we will no doubt eventually get a refund - this will be a big hassle. Another rotten greedy US ticket agency, who make commission under false pretences. Steer well clear of any events they are agents for.”

Other reviews talk about how Eventbrite holds onto the money they’ve earned from events:

Had a terrible experience. We finished our event successfully. But the Eventbrite representatives claimed we did not have the event and therefore wouldn’t want to release the collected fees. They simply ignored whatever evidence provided. This is tentative to a robbery under the sun.”

User-friendliness

Eventbrite’s platform is easy to use, according to many reviewers, with users talking about how simple the platform itself is to navigate.

“I was happy with how easy it was to check on ticket sales,” one reviewer says, while another highlights, “The ease in scheduling events like our art shows and gallery premieres,” as one of their favourite things about the platform. Another describes how, “It is easy to schedule and manage events. It has an easy to use interface, but also the features that I need.”

Ticket-buyers also love how easy the platform is to navigate – like the reviewer who says:

“One of the aspects I liked most about Eventbrite is its user-friendly interface. Navigating the platform is straightforward, making it incredibly easy to find music events that match my interests.”

High fees

Some Eventbrite users think the platform’s fees are simply too high. “While Eventbrite is generally effective, I would say that the fees associated with ticket sales can be a drawback for some organizers,” one review says. Another highlights that the prices are “terrible for small businesses, in my example I have to pay 30% of event price just for this button 'tickets'.” Another points to the fact that fees are “steep” for high-ticket events in particular.

Top Notch Customer Service!

Ticket Tailor is absolutely the best and I want to particularly commend Anna who helped me with a very thorny problem with patience and kindness. My experience with TT's customer service agents has been invariably positive. I run a small non-profit theater, and am NOT a computer specialist in any way, but I was able to set up our box office with relative ease due to TT's user-friendly system (and incredibly helpful customer service agents). The pricing is also incredibly reasonable. I highly recommend Ticket tailor and once more I want to give a great big thank you to Anna.

👀 Pssst. Our platform is also packed with tons of amazing event management features, from marketing integrations to analytics and much more.
