WMF highlights AI as an area of strategic importance for a resilient economy. WMF-NA, running simultaneously focuses on ManuVation 4.0.
The WMF-NA event is being held concurrently and in parallel with the 9th annual World Manufacturing Forum in Cernobbio on Lake Como near Milan, Italy. It too is being held virtually. Ten years ago Intelligent Manufacturing Systems International (IMSI) saw the need for a global forum for advanced manufacturing and the technologies of Industry 4.0; with the expressed objective to “Enhance and spread industrial manufacturing culture worldwide”. And as the current World Manufacturing Foundation President, Alberto Ribolla recently said, “create a sense of community.”
In this post-Covid world, we desire that this year’s WMF and expansion to North America, not only grows the reach of the WMF, but also prepares SME based manufacturers and their supporting supply chains with a better understanding of how to adapt and thrive in this new era. The 2020 edition of the World Manufacturing Forum will highlight how, in the attempt to move towards a global economic renaissance, technological innovation is progressing rapidly and AI has become an area of strategic importance and a key driver of resilient economy.
The event will discuss how Artificial Intelligence is impacting the manufacturing sector at large, the extent to which it is providing us with new opportunities and, at the same time, the new adaptations and efforts it requires to take - Manuvation 4.0!
Throughout the world, industry is a pivot around which the whole economy moves. It contributes greatly to prosperity acting as the engine of global and local value chains and provides many jobs.
Many have already started to experiment with technologies such as machine-to-machine digital connectivity (the Industrial Internet of Things), artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, advanced automation, robotics, and additive manufacturing. The impact of this shift shaped what is now universally known as the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
During the 2020 edition of the World Manufacturing Forum, it will be highlighted how, in the attempt to move towards a global economic renaissance, technological innovation is progressing rapidly and AI has become an area of strategic importance and a key driver of resilient economy.
