Extreme Risk Protection Orders
Multiple dates and times

Description
Oregon’s Red Flag Law is a gun violence & suicide prevention law that permits a state court to order the temporary removal of firearms from a person who a judge believes may present a danger to others or to themselves. This order is called an Extreme Risk Protection Order.
The two-hour live, online, interactive, and comprehensive training on Extreme Risk Protection Orders is suitable for clinicians, peer workers, law enforcement, educators, healthcare administrators, ministry, court officers, housing managers, case workers, parole and probation officers, family members, community safety workers, mobile outreach teams, and anyone interested in reducing violence.
The Extreme Risk Protection Order training satisfies the state requirement for two hours of suicide prevention training for many Oregon clinicians and community healthcare workers as required by Oregon law.
During the training attendees will receive a packet via email of all legal petitions for Oregon, direct contact information for court and law enforcement officials in all Oregon counties, explanatory journal articles and reports, and legislative bills.
A certificate for two hours of continuing education credit is available for licensed professionals through the National Association of Social Workers of Oregon, for peer workers in Oregon through the Mental Health and Addictions Certification Board, and for law enforcement through the Oregon Department of Safety and Standards Training.
All trainings are scheduled in the Pacific Time Zone.
This training is not suitable to be taken using a smartphone. Plan to attend using a computer or laptop with a full screen. Plan to arrive at the training early. The training starts on time and access to the training will close soon after the training begins.
