The Magpie Collection: A Dance Festival is a bright and attractive gathering of dances that will inspire, delight, and move audiences with the language of dance which crosses many boundaries.

From July 16 to 24, MZD will host a series of dance workshops, followed by three days filled with dance performances!

The affordable series of intensive workshops include: ballet, modern, Afro beats, contemporary Asian, bhangra, professional development workshops, and Performance in Digital artist panels. Three days of live performances will include two double features with such groups as KO Dance Projects, Running Thunder Dancers, Usha Gupta Dance Entourage, and more, while the Sunday surprise bike tour of dance will include site specific pieces to delight all ages.

The dance community has developed in recent years, to include a wide range of movement expressions. Alone, these styles are often hard to discover, but together we anticipate a strong impact on Edmonton’s cultural scene!
