Celebrate Black History Month with this fantastic event organised by Sydenham School PTA for pupils, parents, carers, friends and family and the wider community.
Hosted by Barbara Gray, Mayoress of Lewisham, the evening will feature 12 inspirational women, men and young people of African and African-Caribbean heritage talking for five minutes each about their field of expertise or area of interest. The panel embraces health, science, local government, entertainment, career development, law, history and much more.

We are delighted that Beats of Polynesia will also be joining us, to share the vibrant rhythms and culture of the Pacific Islands.
You will have the opportunity to chat with speakers in the interval and at the end of the event.
Refreshments will be on sale, including rum punch and Caribbean-inspired mocktails.
You can also pre-order and pay for a meal of Jerk Chicken with Rice and Peas or Vegan Caribbean Stew with Rice and Peas when you buy your entry tickets online. (Please note that all meals must be pre-ordered and paid for in advance so that we can cater accordingly.)
All proceeds from this event will go towards improving the facilities at Sydenham School.
