Design Operations is designing the design practice. They are the guiding hand that allow designers and their processes to run as smoothly as can be, and are just as important as the designs themselves. How can we integrate design teams into businesses in the most strategic way possible? Is there a process we can put into place that cuts down repetitive tasks, granting designers more time to design?
In this event, we will be discussing how Design Ops make processes more efficient and effective, and how that can then support changes, growths and scaling within the company.

Enrico Furfaro - Senior User Experience Designer at Zattoo
Enrico is a Designer and User Researcher based in Berlin. He strives to design solutions elegantly balanced between user and business need. And he has a special interest in the intersection between the physical and digital world.
He is currently a Senior UX Designer at Zattoo. Prior to that he worked in agencies and startups for brands such as Sony Mobile, Yamaha, BMW, and Maersk. Enrico holds an MSc in Human-Computer Interaction from University College London.

And that's fine because a big part of our jobs is to evangelize Design and Research. But how? Enrico will share some activities and strategies used by the Design team at Zattoo.
Stefanus Sunarja - Senior Designer (UX Architecture & DesignOps) at Market Logic Software
Indonesian-native Stefan has been building digital products for the last 7 years. Plying his trade as software engineer before turning to product design, he has come to learn that human-centered design is a team sport, one that involves cross-discipline and collaborative effort.
For the past 3 years, Stefan has been working with the talented teams at Market Logic Software to help world’s biggest consumer brands run insights-driven business. In his dual role as UX Architect and DesignOps Manager, he supports various product teams by defining and refining design patterns and processes.
Designing Operations through Growth
As companies scale, they generally need to go through the intermediate growth stage between early startup and established corporation. Not short of uncertainties and difficulties, growth stage is often both challenging and exciting.
In this talk, Stefanus will share a personal story about how the role and mindset of DesignOps can support growth-stage companies. This story will demonstrate how practicing DesignOps can help designers identify and tackle common areas of improvement at this stage.
Christian Lenz - Solution Manager Service Design/Principal UX Designer at Ergosign Berlin
Chris has 18 Years of experience as a digital designer. He started his career freelancing as UX Designer, partnered to build an Agency until he started to work in advertising for a while. He came back to the product design world when he started at Fjord, where he worked as a design lead in the Berlin and later Madrid office. He ran international projects on various continents, across various industries to create design led strategies and digital products.
At Ergosign he is responsible for the Design Methodology, Digital Strategies and oversees the growth of the Service Design discipline.
